Winners invited to 2011 U.S. Cricket Open
The Third Annual MAQ T20 New England Cricket Tournament will be played this Memorial Day Weekend just a few miles from the USA Cricket Hall of Fame. The best cricket players in the North East Region will represent their respective leagues in competing for the Championship Trophy and an invitation to participate in the 2011 U.S. Cricket Open. Cricket Council USA, a sports and entertainment management company and Sam’s Food Stores have set the stage for a thrilling Memorial Day Weekend of first class cricket.
The Defending Champions from the Massachusetts State Cricket League will compete against the highly talented North East Regional Youth Team, the 2009 champions Southern Connecticut Cricket League and the Connecticut Cricket League. The winning team will take home the fabulous Championship Trophy and a $3,000.00 prize check. The runner-up will be awarded a $1,500.00 prize check.
On Saturday evening, May 28th, Cricket Council USA, Sam’s Food Stores and T20 Energy Drink will honor the competing teams and attending dignitaries at the Golden Circle Welcome Reception. The North East Region has established itself as one of the major regional participants for the 2011 U. S. Cricket Open, being hosted by Cricket Council USA from December 1 – 4, 2011 at Central Broward Regional Park, Lauderhill, Florida.
Just like the “OPEN” format in major U.S. Golf and Tennis Opens, the U.S. Cricket Open Championship will have teams from the USA, Canada, England and Pakistan converging on beautiful South Florida to leave their mark in American sports history. The participating teams will have the names of its players, coaches and managers indelibly etched into the record books for competing in the 3rd Edition U.S. Cricket Open Championship for a first prize of $50,000.00.
