"Mahammad A. Qureshi is running for President of USACA.”
"USACA Election 2012"
Qureshi declares, “I’m running for President in order to bring credibility to USACA – what should be an esteemed organization. Credibility is only proven when an organization demonstrates responsibility and integrity. Only then can we gain the confidence of our stakeholders. I’m running for this position because I have an underlining passion for the understanding for the growth and development for the sport of cricket in the United States. I’m running to make USACA an efficient and transparent organization that is respected among its members, other cricket associations, the ICC, and millions of potential cricket enthusiasts in America.“
Qureshi, also known as Maq, migrated to USA in 1984 with little to no means – but he had big dreams. With an unending work ethic and determination, he is now the President and CEO of the successful Maq Group, Inc, one of the largest real estate investment and financial groups in the US. The Maq Group has gained great success by specializing in commercial real estate investments, financing, development, management and consulting. Maq Group also specialized in developing and maintaining fast food franchises and gas stations. Maq Group owns brands, such as PetroAmerica, Subco, SuperStop and Bizder. Maq Group also has many relationships including, but not limited to BP, Shell, Hess, Chevron, CITGO, Marathon and Sunoco.
Ten years ago Maq’s passion for cricket led him to found a private sports and entertainment company called Cricket Council USA. With business and three kids whom he spends much of his time with, the business of cricket has become an integral part of both his professional and personal life. He has held countless MAQ T20 Tournaments around the US – including Texas, Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut, New York and the likes. He has branded a T20 logo and tag line as well as a line of energy drinks and a clothing/gear line surrounding the hype for the short-action packed game. He has also been a long time supporter of the only ongoing T20 Night Cricket Tournament in the United States – the City of Lauderhill Maq T20 International Night Cricket Tournament in the City of Lauderhill, Florida, (Cricket Capital of the U.S.).
It is a natural transition for Maq to take the helm of USACA’s ship which is seemingly sailing in circles. His historical knack for growing successful coupled with his passion for the advancement of the sport in the U.S. is a winning combination. His dreams to elevate USACA to a well respected and transparent organization are achievable upon his being elected to President.
