Cricket Council USA joined hand with MDCricket Council to host and sponsor the DCT20
Cricket Tournament.The kick off ceremony was held in a very nice indoor Cricket Facility called Wicket Club at Sterling,VAand was attended by the Managers/Captains and players from the participating teams and also officials of CCUSA & MD Cricket Council.
Teams collected the nice colourful Uniforms.12 Teams participated and on the first day 2 grounds were used to play,Central Park and Hyattvilles.Meeting between Mr.Qureshi and Mr.Zaheer the 2 heads of CricketCouncilUSA & MDCricket Council was also present in the meeting were Mr.Daud,MrSunju,MrSiva, Mr.Mansoor,Mr.Rahman, Mr.Shuja Khan.Meeting outcome was a successful voice of promoting Cricket T20 and joint collaboration for future events.
The semi final and Final was played in the Hyattvilles field,under very nice weather on bright sunny Sunday afternoon--where two tigers--Washington Tigers met the US Tiger.US Tiger batted first,on the first ball ,the opening batsman was runout--that was a very scarry start but US Tiger got thier act togather and piled a total of 129 runs in 20 overs.Washington Tigers came to bat and in the mid point after 90 runs there was a collapse in batting order and lost the match.MAQ and Mr.Zaheer along with Mr.Mansoor,MrSiva,MrDaud, and Mr.Hasan Jaleel distributed the Trophy and prize money which was attend by Cricket fans,friends,media and family members of the playing teams.USTigers got the winning trophy with cash Prize of $7000-Runners up Washington Tigers got the runners up trophy with cash prize $1500.
Mr.Qureshi had another meeting with the President of USACA Mr.Dainty- They had discussion for over 45 meetings and number of questions were exchanged and answered.Over all it was a very pleasant meeting with happy ending with stress on the note on youth cricket.
