The morning of Sunday Feb 17th 2013-Florida not only had the cold temperature but had the cold wind chill factor of 42 degree where Floridians consider anything close to below 60 is winter and cold-Coats.woolen Cardigans,Thermal Jackets--people are dressed in many folds. Broward Central Regional Park had a different scene ,Players,Umpires,CCUSA Officials, SFCL President,WWCA President gathered in the BCRP main hall for the opening ceremony of the Broward County MAQT20 Day & Night Cricket Tournament which is sponsered by T20 Energy Drinks.First to come on the Podium-Mr Chris Paras President of the CCUSA welcomed all the those who were present and announced the commencement of the Broward County MAQT20 Day and Night Cricket Tournament.Next on the podium was MAQ who graciously summed up the entire history of CCUSA Cricket Tournaments which started from 2008 in the Broward Central Regional Park with all the fact and figures till 2012 when the registered team reached 109 teams and due lack of grounds had to accept only 40 teams who participated in USOPEN2012.MAQ thanked Broward County Officials and Representative.
MAQ thanked all players and umpires,mentioning Umpires are the ones who conduct the games and asked every one to appluad them..MAQ concluded with the details next phase of games with the team names and who are the people to be contacted.Mr.Duncan Finch,Manager of the Broward Central Regional Park welcomed every one and mentioned the full support of Broward County MAQT20 Tounament which commences on President weekend.Mr,Finch mentioned that it is the beginning of something big-this is like the county leagues in England--(Ofcouse it had the English Weather and Temprature in Florida on this particular day).
- Mr. Finch wished luck to all the players and thanked CCUSA for supporting the event.
- Mr.Amim Markatia mentioned his role with CCUSA and how much he is happy to support
the Cricket and asked best players to join his team.
- Mr.Rizwan President FSCL and Rick Toolsie,President WWCA also thanked the
- Broward County and CCSA for supporting the event-both of them are very dedicated and spend days
in the ground to participate and organize cricket events.Soon after all dispersed to 3 grounds
