Since 1999 when Home of Hope, Inc. began, we have had the blessings of interacting with people who share the same true focus, and the determination, to bring joy to the lives of children in need.
In 2010, our good luck continued. Cricket Council USA will help us extend our reach and share our goal to provide a brighter future to underprivileged children in India.
These children, who by no fault of their own are extremely poor, orphaned, abandoned or physically or mentally challenged. Some are blind, deaf or mute. Others are Tsunami victims, street children or victims of AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases. Each of them deserves the chance to see a brighter future.
Home of Hope focuses on three primary goals for these children:
Improving the safety and daily care of children in need includes:
- uniforms for young children in school to provide a sense of belonging
- introducing a ‘mobile library’ that takes books to very poor rural families
- installing basic utilities like toilets, fans for cooling and safe areas to play
- providing teachers who focus on English and art
Training them with reading and computer skills includes:
- creating and upgrading computer labs
- providing classrooms with computer courses to teach reading skills
- joining forces with NIIT – Global Technology
Providing top students with extended education includes:
- designing a standard test to measure the tests and progress of each child
- providing inspiration programs for primary, middle and high school levels
- co-funding college and technical school fees
