In the more than two decades since it opened in 1989, this 175.2-acre park has established itself as one of Broward County Parks' primary centers for athletic activity. This is only fitting for a park named after one of the top athletes in South Florida history. Perhaps surprisingly for such a busy park.
Four lighted softball fields, four lighted multipurpose fields (two for Little League), three lighted soccer/football fields, two cricket fields, and one unlighted practice field. All fields are available by reservation, fee, and submittal of a Certificate of Insurance.
