Organization and Mission Statement

Cricket Council USA is a professional organization in the United States which is committed to promote the game of cricket at the grass root level as well as at professional level in the United States of America. The organization was formed in 2000 as one of several independent efforts by different organizations to develop and promote cricket in the United States. We promote Cricket at all levels in the United States of America, develop professional players who can successfully compete in local as well as international games. CCUSA is a private entity whose management members have years of experience in running and promoting cricket in the USA. Our main objective is creating attractive environments for U.S. and International businesses to invest in cricket. Establish sponsorship relations, long and short term, with corporate entities to assure continued growth and sustainability beyond the development stages. CCUSA aims to develop a new generation of Cricketers through an intensive program of coaching the fundamental skills of Cricket. This will be accomplished in part through the Cricket Academy Summer Camp. We would like cricket to compete with other professional sports in America like baseball, football and basketball.

Over the last 10 years, the sport of cricket has gained momentum in the united states and abroad. As known, Cricket is second only to soccer in the worldwide popularity as a spectator sport. In America there are over 750 cricket clubs and over 35 leagues. This makes the United States of America the 9th most active cricket playing country in the world. It is estimated that over 6 million cricket fans, 50,000 active cricketers reside in the united states alone from cricket playing nations such as Australia, England, New Zealand, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies. With the introduction of the latest version of 20-20 Cricket, its catching very fast amongst the American population.
